The Rt. Hon. Lord Paul Boateng served as the British High Commissioner to South Africa. This followed three decades of service to the Labour Party in the United Kingdom. During this period, the Rt. Hon. Boateng became the first black Cabinet Minister to serve in the government of the United Kingdom. Rt. Hon.
