Meriam Mokoena
Programmes Manager
Meriam is the Programme Manager for Tiso Foundation. She coordinates and provides support to all beneficiaries across our various scholarship Programmes. Meriam comes from an Education Management background in the NGO sector. As a programme officer for the Student Sponsorship Programme she managed the mentorship programme, student support and stakeholder relations. She holds a BA degree form Wits University.
Taryn Foster-Sutherland
Marketing and Communications Manager
Taryn began her career at Metro FM after which she moved to 5FM. Recently Taryn joined the Tiso Foundation after 8 years as an experiential marketing consultant at DMX Africa. Taryn has a passion for marketing and communications and has consulted with a number of companies on their marketing strategies. Taryn holds a BA (Corp Comms) Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg.
Michelle Kimmie
General Manager Investments
Michelle Kimmie is the General Manager for Investments for the Foundation. She is the former General Manager of the Foundation and former Head of Transaction Management at Tiso Group (Proprietary) Limited. She holds positions as trustee in the following: Tiso Foundation, The AECI Community Education and Development Trust, Tiso AEL Development Trust, The Aveng Empowerment Trust, and Eris Property Group Employee Share Trust. Michelle holds a Higher Diploma in Taxation which she obtained through the Rand Afrikaans University and a BCom degree through the University of South Africa.
Liesel Peters
Office Manager
Liesel is a former Group Accountant from African Bank Investments Limited from 1998 to 2003. She joined Tiso Group in 2004 as an accountant and proceeded to perform various other roles which included Company Secretarial and an Office Manager role during her 7 year period of service. She is currently the Office Manager and is responsible for the human resource and administration function at Tiso Foundation.
Bridget Shibambu
General Manager Programmes
Bridget formally began her career at Anglo American South Africa as a Communications Officer. After which she moved to Tshikululu Social Investments, a corporate social investment fund management company, to manage the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund. With a broad knowledge and understanding of the corporate social responsibility and the development sector, Bridget made the move to the Tiso Foundation in 2009, joining as the Programmes Manager as was appointed General Manager of Programmes in January 2014. She holds a BA (Corp Comms) Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg
